How OPPENHEIMER Starts A Chain Reaction

Christopher Nolan has proven time and time again that he can perform jaw-dropping cinematic magic tricks, but with OPPENHEIMER, he pursues something even more radical: 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡-𝙗𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙛𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙛𝙞𝙡𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜. Hello Mr. Loverboy. This was a very good "analysis" of the whole atmosphere that involves this movie and the people who watch it. The fact that the movie is sterile, its architecture is utilitarian and without artistry or warmth, as well as the fact the the characters appear often alone are all very coherent with what is communicated, a cut and dry world. A world in which, at least for me, replicants can seem more human than the humans . It took me time to appreciate this movie, since in the first time I watched it gave me a bad sensation in the stomach, but as I watched more times, I came to understand it and notice that is part of a context. However, I still prefer the first Blade Runner (1982), maybe because I was a kid at the time and I had an emotional connection with the characters of Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer. Their interaction in the last scene, in the roof top, was epic.

Imma be real, I still can't like BvS But I love to see the points I defended back in 2016 are now praised and recognized because it has some great highs.... and low lows I still see the ton quantity of holes in the movie. And I stand in the way that this shouldn't had been a "universe" it was just meant to be a long series of movies with Zack's touch.

Every line of dialogue is NOT essential. Dialogue is TENET is mostly set dressing. Watching tenet has never been about the characters or their backstories... People have it backwards. Tenet as a "movie" is like watching a beautiful and complicated Rube Goldberg machine rather than reading book. To use a video game analogy. most movies are narrative games, like Last of Us or something, where you play the game to get through the story. Tenet is more like counter-strike or chess, you don't play it because you care about story, you play it because the mechanics of the game make you satisfied to play it. And that's why watching tenet multiple times is still enjoyable. Dude made Oppenheimer...he knows what he's doing when it comes to dialogue and story.

I think it's a bit overrated but it took risks to make the star the villain and have him win a lot and made the conflict more internal than external and that makes it greater than just a great film

One thing I forgot, perhaps you can answer this question. At the end when K is lying on the steps, he puts his hand out and looks at the snow falling on it, and at the same time Deckard walks in Anna has her back to him with her hand stretched out with snow on her hand. Symbolism? I have the feeling there is something more about the connection between K and Anna. Yes he has her memories, but could there be a real connection between K and Anna. Being that a female replicant who could reproduce, wouldn’t one assume a female child would have been more important than a male child. Since Freya said that is just a piece of the puzzle, could it be Rachael had twins, but the boy was taken away and hidden somewhere else. And Anna was the one they were more interested in? It is far fetched I know, however, that is something I have pondered over because of that last five minutes. Had this done well at the box office, I wonder if there was a story line for a sequel, with K not actually dying but passed out and saved with just such a twist. To speculate is pointless since it will not come to pass. However, I could envision all kinds of scenarios where this could have been achieved given the blackout and the technology. I just felt there was something about K having her memories. How did he get them in the first place. I wish I knew, since it does not explain in the movie. Just a thought.

This is the best essay on Blade Runner 2049 I have come across. I am an older woman who at 10 fell in love with serious sci-fi reading Clarke, Asimov, Bradbury, Simak and Huxley. I saw Kubrick’s 2001 on Opening night - which gives you an idea of how old I am. And yes I saw the original in the theatre and a directors cut in 1994. I loved it. Of course the most compelling character in that film is Roy Batty and his eloquent Tears in Rain speech. However, 2049 is another level entirely. I went to see it and was so mesmerized by it, I saw it again at my local theatre the next day. I own the DVD’s of both. 2049 is my favorite and on my best 5 movies of all time and I have seen many movies over the years. Your video encapsulates what I felt watching it. Gosling’s performance - what he can do with just his eyes to convey feeling is first rate. A three time Oscar nominee, he should have been nominated for this role also. The direction and Deakin’s cinematography was so beautiful - I remember saying to myself if he doesn’t win the Oscar for this film after 13 nominations, there is something seriously wrong with Hollywood. And of course, he did. This movie is a soul-searching, wrenching absolute masterpiece. And like the first will just gain in stature as the years pass. Thank you so much for your insightful take. I have subscribed I was so impressed.

There's a mistake most people who watch TENET make: thinking it's a bond film. It's not. The concept of a movie is based on a paradox. Temporal Pincer Movement. And the villain isn't Sator, It's actually the humans from the future who contacted him and gave him gold in the past to make him do what they want which will destroy the present humans and possibly themselves based on the grandfather paradox. And it's because of climate change. So maybe the actual villain is Us? Destroying the world? But whatever you believe, it's not a bond film.

After WB’s recent output, MoS BvS and the SnyderCut feel like a quality we might not get again. Deconstructing the heroes, and the religious allegory might not be what we were looking for at the time (in the height of the MCU’s lighthearted popular style) but now the Snyder films are more interesting to watch and the way they are made is metal and epic…

Hating something is exhausting. It’s more than just not liking something, it takes effort, energy, and a weird sort of dedication to hate something. I’ve spent a lot of time in the last decade hating a lot of things, for a lot of reasons, and I’ve been so miserable the whole time. My whole worldview was filtered through hatred and stubbornness. It doesn’t matter if it’s a movie, a person, a political movement, or a god, it’s not worth it. Even if you think it’s justified, that you’re right for hating it, it’s not good for you. You’re not going to like everything and everyone you encounter in your life, but that’s okay. Move on, focus on the things you _do_ like, and enjoy them. It’s better that way. It’s 2 in the morning and I have work tomorrow, why am I venting in a UA-cam comment section lol

Part of me was hoping that this video would change my perspective on The Last Jedi and make me love it somehow. It didn’t, all the reasons why I don’t like it still feel just as valid as they did 18 minutes ago, but it was still interesting hear someone who loves it so much express their opinion so thoughtfully. If nothing else, I get why you like it now, and possibly why Rian Johnson and Lucasfilm made it the way they did, so that’s cool I guess.

Batman has a past too. Who has put Joker in Arkham? Two years since Batman storms Gotham city, he must be the guy who captured the Joker and that's why he got to team up with the almost only non corrupt policeman in the city: Gordon. That's why he went to Arkham to interrogate Joker also. Second movie has a lot explore but a lot to explain too. And for my personal taste Batman needs to go deep into high tech on the next installment. By the way, the Riddler does know that Batman is Bruce Wayne

I disagree with the overhyped love of this movie, there is a lack of verisimilitude through out the movie, and the secondary character aside from Selena and Pinguin, are super under used, Gordon is a complete inept cop for most of the film, and absolutely no one is afraid of the Batman at all, the closest part to fear from the villains is the beginning thugs scene, aside from that everybody sees him as a silly guy dressed as a bat, and bat should inspire fear. It is a very long winded movie that gives Batman the realization that him as Batman is useless for the most part and should just be Bruce Wayne 😂 The only thing that it has going for it is the cinematography and Colin Ferrell’s performance.
